Jason Newton started racing at the age of 8 years old, in the quarter midget
ranks. Often times Jason raced with the likes of Jeff Gordon, Kara
Hendrick, as well as other successful high caliber racers. After some time
away from racing, 1997 brought back the passion and desire to chase the
checkered flag. Jason spent some time in the 250cc micro midget division.
1998 was a consistent year for Jason, accomplishing a top three finish in
the prestigious Western States Championship race with the National
Modified Midget Association. Jason completed the 250cc season with an
8th place finish in the region 7 point standings. In 1998 Jason also
stepped into a 600cc mini sprint for the first time. Jason raced his way to a
2nd place points finish with the SJMA touring series. Since the start of the
2000 racing season, Jason has primarily raced at Delta Speedway in
Stockton, Ca. While on occasion, racing at tracks such as Vallejo
Speedway, Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, ca as well as Lemoore
Raceway in Lemoore, Ca. During the past six seasons Jason has finished
out of the top ten in points only once, in 2003 when he missed a portion of
the season due to injury. The 2006 season was one of many challenges
for Jason. The team  did fall short of a championship run. Jason ended the
season at Delta Speedway with a top five finish in the championship. The
season provided some exciting race wins, challenging defeats and an
abundance of exciting teamwork. The 2007 season was a dream come
true for Jason. While racing a winged sprint car for the first time, Jason
overcame the “rookie mistakes” enough to earn the 2007 Rookie of the
year at Ocean Speedway and drive his way to his first career main event
win in a sprint car. The 2008 season is one that Jason is looking forward
to; he and his team are more experienced and look to improve on their
rookie performance
